Mark Ketchum
Varsity and Youth Coach | 15 years
Mark has been active in coaching football and baseball for nearly 15 years in his hometown Minnesota community. He has coached baseball for the past 6 years; developing Luke and his classmates from struggling to run to first base to finishing with a strong playoffs run this past year, and will start it all over again in 2020 with Breven and his classmates in t-ball! Youth football has been an adventure, while Luke’s team this past season went from an 0-3 start of the season to division champions. The team was fortunate enough to be able to play in a select tournament at the US Bank Stadium (Home of the MN Vikings) to wrap up the season on a high note. Mark has also coached for the Andover Huskies Football program since 2005 in roles ranging from Head Sophomore coach to Varsity Assistant O-Line coach. Mark enjoys working directly with kids on developing both their physical toughness and their mental sports IQ. Mark firmly believe in the power of team sports to build character in future leaders of our communities and homes. For the 2020 season, Mark will be changing teams to the Anoka Tornados to work directly with the Varsity Defensive Line.
Mark truly believes that it was Football and sports in general that provided him opportunities that led to a variety of successes he has savored in his life. The teams, coach’s, and communities that helped shape him during his growing years are his mentors and what he hopes his is providing while paying it forward. Mark believes that in order to live in a thriving community you need to be active and engaged; a value core to Mark’s being.
